God Almighty Deluges His Favoured Blessings Only To Those Who Truly Believe!
Our only Living God Almighty has given us His promises of abundant blessings and prosperity.
These demand for you and I to be given total provisions;total well-being which are inclusive of abundance of both our Spiritual and our temporal lives.
Our Blessed Deliverer is calling us to take our 'Spiritual journeys' seriously; to turn our backs on all negativities that try to thwart our progresses;and leave all our doubts and fears individually and collectively as family members and step out through faith and obedience;claim possessions of all the blessings that He had initially provided us with, that we were too busy to 'notice' when we involved ourselves too much with futile matters that brought us no gain.
Human behaviours at times are too involved in things that others may see and provide validation for. Unfortunately, too many in our Fijian societies are tempted to do just that.
[Sa la'ki sotia i Peretania o Apolosi;sa na levu sara ga na nodratou i lavo na lewe ni nona matavuvale!} is a very relevant example of 'validation' being used.
In this instance,Apolosi, a young village man of twenty one is just beginning his career as a soldier in Great Britain;probably posted in a dangerous war zone in Afghanistan or in Darfur, Sudan.
In researching the salary tables of British servicemen and servicewomen, and any other servicemen and servicewomen in the world for that matter,we see that the salaries are just enough for one to begin a career and substantiate his/her life with; that should provide him and his little nuclear family enough for a lifetime.
But, should Apolosi be tempted to 'keep up with the Jones's, he is expected by his family from Fiji to be someone who has somehow developed 'a tap of money,' that 'can never run dry'-to take care of all the 'ogas' back home, including the building of a home for the family in the village;paying for rent of his brother's family;the school fees of his divorced sister's children and yadah....yadah.....yadah, simply because Ropate who is in the Fiji Military Forces built his family a home in their village and takes care of his entire family's financial obligations from whence he returned from Sinai years ago.
He is somewhat forced to be included in a 'competition' that he really does not voluntarily want to participate in ;unless if he too is wanting 'validation'.He was blessed and unless he smartens up and begins 'drawing lines in the sand', his personal blessings may turn out to curse him instead.
Apolosi received his opportunity to find a job in order to take care of himself and not be unemployed in Fiji;he needs to realise his blessings and add by multiplying things to his benefits instead of losing things for the sake of validation.Adding to his blessings might mean marrying a blessed woman who is also in the forces who will help him as a companion in his career and add to his financial coffers, for example.
Do we realise as to what causes Fijians to be circling around in the 'spheres of mediocrity?'
It is because we are tempted to 'drain ' every cent we can out of our 'better- financed- relatives'.
On the other hand, what we should be doing is supporting them Spiritually and morally so that they can do better for themselves and their future families. As it is now, many of our Fijian overseas workers work diligently, are paid handsomely but seem to have ' money bags with holes in them.'
Maybe one can argue that it is our 'Communal culture ' in our Sociological way of life that encourages this.It is of much regret that in our doing so, we are 'sucking out of' a relative's blessings instead of building like sources right from our very own villages at home or from wherever we are or simply go without the luxuries we can not afford or cutting on the 'ogas' that we participate in.
In this instance,Apolosi is a relevant example of one whose blessings have been wrongly-utilised because he himself could not and can not use his hard-earned salary to facilitate bettering himself in many temporal ways.
Apolosi and many who are 'being used' like Apolosi, should now ' wake up and smell the uci'
On the plains of Mamre in the Holy Land our Forefather Abram/Abraham questioned our Heavenly Father when at his old age he still did not have any children when he misread God's blessings.
He made a blatant mistake that has haunted him and his entire generation.
All of us,including Apolosi will need to 'take God's word to heart',be thankful of the blessings we continue to have so far as believers and find out what else is there that we need to do in order to make complete claims of our daily blessings that are given to us.
Lest we forget, our blessings we do not claim daily are given to others who do claim theirs.
Do you want to be on a yacht with those who have claimed their abundant blessings, 'se 'o via dua vei ira ka na via vodo basi makawa ka sa sega ni lewai rawa tu na lako ni kena i kuvukuvu kei na kena taya ka ra sa cou ka botani?-You really want to continue riding on a delipidated bus or idini cavu?
Let's not make the mistake our Forefather Abram/Abraham made on the plains of Mamre in these modern times. Let's claim all our blessings, know how to use them and claim them now! Amen.
