Matching the outer( the area or industry that you would like to get into) and the inner( your area of expertize)
It would be nice to have some experience in the business that your going to get into.
but it is not essential, now days you can get info on about any topic.
what you lack in experience you should make up in research
eg
I want to start a business in pig farming
look at the market
is there a need for another pig farmer
what can you do better then the other pig farmers
look at the legislation that you would need to comply with,
this includes local council permits and federal laws
set up your business plan
look for farmers association and get a mentor
that is basically it, the farmers association will be your back bone for info and any help that you will need,
understand that this is a 2 way street,
you must also reciprocate help when it is required by others
