Where Fiji Friends from all over the world meet.
0 after 1 voteWhere does it all went wrong...I don't think in any way it did, prove me wrong, BUT, will it ever get BETTER????....and HOW??.... is there anyone to blame, The Military, The Chiefs, The Coup Culture, Pride, Hypocrites, Dispute of Churches, Lack of Education in general or is it just this 5 letters says it all G.R.E.E.D.
Mathematically...ADD all them UP = Fijians
How can i bluntly say such a word. Well its not the English to blame, because we are no more under their Colony, and nor the Australian neither New Zealand, because non of the two control our Gorvenment or Leadership. But WE the FIJIANS are to be blamed
Gone are the days where FIJI THE WAY THE WORLD SHOULD BE....sadly to say it shall be remembered that it once were.....i'm in deep thought about our future generation....the Question is.. ARE YOU, AND WHAT ARE GONNA DO ABOUT IT?
THE FLOOR IS OPEN..let us know WHAT you think....and WHY... Vinaka.

Permalink Reply by Kaline on January 22, 2012 at 11:52am The '87 coup was bad enough from the perspective of being a pair of sisters who were amongst the families who were slated by the '87 coup regime - as the enemy, thereby being victims of house arrest, verbal abuse, sexual harassment, property damage, to the extent of witnessing the physical abuse of our late former father - from his bedroom to the vehicle - and having to clean trails of his blood - to taking a cab, to where he was detained - hearing his screams and their talk as waves of men got off vehicles to rush in to the vicinity to beat him up - a small stout nerdy man.
This is our history - directly with politics in Fiji. The bad side. The sainted side of Fiji's politics we did experience too - through his late father. It wasn't all rosy either, although seemingly democratic.
Fast forward - The year 2000 - The civilian coup. Unfortunately for us, a key player in this coup, just so happened to be our Mom's father's youngest brother. Now this did not qualify us as being perceived as the neutral people we had become. For some reason, certain elements within these sects chose to threaten via the telephone, divulging that if we were to choose to return to Fiji, we would in effect be electing our deaths. Not from one person - Not from 2 people - But a group of people, with the posse in the background as well. Masse idiocy - contagious obviously.
2006 arises. Some would call it a coup, and some depending on your interpretation of the law, would term it - the Military Reprieve. Much like many online participants, we too were informed that for some reason, we were/are on some list. Validation is wanting lol It is odd that we of those early days were said to have been on some "naughty list," for we weren't like many, just satyrical comics. No matter.
What are you going to do about it -you ask SaintsTable? Our chartered course is simple, stemming from our observations, having experienced it all, from our former late father's Dad to our observations of the present - mind your own business - in essence we will mind our own business.
Some would argue, that politics in Fiji is our business - it's everyone's business. We have a simple formula - If we don't make money from Fiji politics - then why involve yourself - emotionally? As far as we're concerned - it's best to leave it to those who took each other out - who chose to involve themselves in the first place - the masterminds - and the masse mentality followers of any and all groups.
When sh&t hits the fan in your own family, none of them are there (no politician, no pseudo-friend, no one) - Get a clue! Choose you! Our compass! We understand why many are drawn to politics, but we have tasted the raw end of politics and it is nasty - it is bilious and it will seemingly never stop - until such time you go above and beyond to show them your disinterest - which will offend!! But - who cares?!
What will we do? We choose to be selfish! We reflect on the elections post Coup '87, having been all guzzied up by our parents, to drive down to the Civic Auditorium where they were to then go and place their votes. The discussion in the car was, "Have you decided on who you are going to vote for - my dear?" The summary of the discussion was, for 2 people who'd been so victimised by the '87 coup, they both independently vocalised that their only option was to vote for the former military man (Kaukimoce), for he was the only candidate they were remotely familiar with - as in, at least they knew of him. The others were relative strangers. The others did not campaign at all, or merely campaigned around grog bowls. Kaukimoce in their opinion at the time, at least chose to answer and participate in town hall meetings. So from this observation, if we were to vote in the forthcoming elections, slated to be in the year 2014 - we too would choose our candidate along the very same lines. Gauge each prospective candidate with our selfish ideals in mind - How would you serve me?! Are you pro-Fiji business or are you anti-Fiji business? If you don't fall along those lines - you get docked - next candidate.
Some may have derision towards our regard towards Fiji politics, but they choose their candidates, they choose their parties for their own self-interests, so to those people - permit us our self-interests!
As for the future generations of Fiji, if parents prioritised their families and chose candidates along the lines of their family ideals, their families dreams and their families visions of success, then and only then will Fiji's future generations succeed and flourish, but that is harbinger upon their parents or future parents choices for their children and yet-to-be-conceived children.

Dear Mr. Aiyaz S Kaiyum ( A Perspective ) Fiji at the Crossroads of Socio-Economic and Political Metamorphosis.
Just a Perspective folks, free of Racial bias, ulterior motives and pre-emptive suggestions of the same is merely for general reading.
You have come to control our Fiji and iTaukei world. You've delayed our Elections, repackaged your Military Decree with foreign infusion, systematically shredded the fragment of our Constitution, changed our iTaukei Land Laws and NLTB structures, unlawfully supressed and unGodly subjugated our traditional system of iTaukei Communal leadership. That had been bestowed on us by the Almighty, through our beloved Chiefs and Religious leaders. You have clinically decimated all our Basic rights as human beings with other races. You've poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted our in-ground assets/resources to foreigners. The crops we grow and the food we eat, a proud legacy of our brave Forefathers have willed to the juggernaut of your Selflish leadership. The good rapport with Foreign Trading Treaties and partners built after Independence, you have selfishly suppressed at the cost of the everyday life of our basic necessaties. You have place a burden of the Administrative arm of our Civil Service, all the while mischieviously dangling Candy to those, who ensure you have a good nights sleep. You have indirectly and directly forced us to fight in your personal agendas and wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you.Your recent Hotline is an extension of you watchdogging and suppressing our Civil liberties, a byproduct of your paranoia and delusion.Occasionally the Racial Card is flagged as a Smokescreen much alike the Rural Developments you consistently grandstand, alas without an elected Oppostion utility, your ulterior motives can be used to ignite your future goals to harness and mobilse the political will you may so draw upon, when your time is right. You've liquidated our savings, you forced all ages to register so you will taking full control of our TIN numbers and bank accounts by closing our withdrawals or bank accounts at anytime you like as your form of punishment to those speaking against you, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed and drinking spree. The sense of peace that comes with Retirement, as vested in the FNPF has been replaced by anxiety and uncertainty. We are slaves to your corporations, “Yes-Sir” to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You by might or flight push through to enable the popularity of your leadership, even though other brave individuals occasionally outshine the breath in your flaring nostrils. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You've profited off ,of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our Cost of Living. You've monopolized all our freedom, stripped away our religious and the Vanua’s meeting rights, and have almost extinguished the flame of our existence. Our true and real Soldiers were our grandfathers, fathers, uncles, brothers who fought a good fight in WW1 and WW2.That was the platform, under the Law of the Sea Convention of 1975, that necessitated the establishment of the then Royal Fiji Military Forces. There were the real Warriors that not only saluted the stipulations and tenets of the Military Institution but exhibited true Custodianship of our People, Land and Sea.We are hit... we are crying and suffering in silence with unbearable pain and much anguish. We are bleeding... but one thing to tell you that we aren’t got time to bleed no more. We will bring the giants to their knees and you will witness our revolution, not that of Judas i.e : “Come let us overthrow Rome”, but that of Jesus Christ our Lord! In dire times like these, our Father in Heaven will always hear our earnest prayers and He will lead us, not to temptation but deliver us from Evil. We will pray for our Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, our Soldiers and we earnestly pray for you too Mr.Aiyaz S. Kaiyum. Please change your paces now before darkness falls and rises against our wishes which maybe beyond anyone’s control. You have manipulated our brother Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and we the indigenous Fijian race and our so called Fijian people of Fiji. Mr. Aiyaz S Kaiyum, we are also in the know that you are plotting long-term major important issues to get rid of your boss and PM Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, (or have already undermined him as a Scapegoat and his ever present Military Council with your Legal expertise)with your Islamic with both Local and International Supports.
Heavenly Father…Thy Will be done on Earth…as it is in Heaven. We, the beloved children of Fiji earnestly cry to you this day Monday the 23nd of January 2012, as the Israelites did under Moses from the overpowering Tyranny of Pharaoh.
