usually i always give.. i won't give money to young girls/boys who need ciggerettes, i won't give to someone who's standing outside a bottle shop. i always give to buskers, and those that seem they geniunely need it should they ask me.

when i've been asked for a few extra loose coins for bus fare i give. when i've been asked for some money to buy food, i give and have gone to the extent of going into a shop and buying afew items of food for them.

im a very caring person and am the type to give to those that are less fortunate than me. so long as i don't get used.

i met an indian couple standing outside our local indian grocer just last week, it was terribly cold and windy out and they looked like they were rugging themselves up to prepare for a long walk home with their many bags of shopping, so i asked them if i could give them a lift anywhere which they kindly accepted.. i do this sometimes too often where i feel sorry for people and try to help or at least offer help.

sometimes it's just the little things but i know that the little things to me might mean alot to someone else.

so whether it be giving to beggers or offering a helping hand, im always there!! :) sharing is caring!!

There will never ever be enough money in the world to rid us of beggars, the homeless and the needy.

There are a few topics in here which are relevant to your concern le bron.

LF's topic on Money v Happiness: http://online.myfijifriends.com/forum/topics/money-vs-happiness?id=...

All we can share is what we'd done about it because we did and do care, as we always will. To not is solely for the walking dead, who live without an iota of a genuinely reactive sense of responsibility.

You could try being a go-between. Approach supermarkets and restaurant chains (best spots for surplus food production per day). Arrange with the 7pm restaurant managers to have someone collect the food before closing time. Pre arrange an ideal and appropriate location for distribution with the needy people in your area. You may make arrangements at the supermarket(s) where you are a regular if you can take some of their unsold sell by date products. You may give some to the needy that you know and others to a soup kitchen (with a note to cook the products within 4 days) or to Churches in your neighbourhood who allot a day for the homeless. Most of the time, food just gets dumped in the rubbish trucks.

It is easy to help without using a cent of your own personal financial resource - best utilised for you and yours.

Oh le bron if you feel like aiding them in the least manner without risking your tight budget, knowing that a little will go a long way, the UK and Europe and the East Coast have publications (newspaper and magazines) entirely run and sourced by the homeless. Many are < $1 or ₤1 or €1.

Many're times you will be able to spot them selling their publication(s) by the subway or on the High Streets.

What's important is that you know that with that good heart of your's in having noticed them at all, wishing you could give something is better than having no conscience at all.

Don't even want to imagine how awfully intense it must be for the Special Force who'll be left with having to deal with what you're sharing other than the Law Enforcement and the targeted Cartel(s). Didn't catch this titbit at all - the French case(s), but for the Beggar Mafia relevant to Human Trafficking in Asia somewhere.

What had been the tone and focus a few years ago here (pre and since 1996) as it is with the organised crime syndicate(s) of Europe is beyond us. America's concerns are more directed at the escalation of gangs, in areas of operation which were once predominantly associated with how we all understood of the mafia proper, only right out of the Federal Prisons, where the controllers reside.

Between Italy, France and the Vatican City, friends of ours encountered some who they described were gypsies, only that we know them to be Kurds. There was a warning about how some who were said to be of that group pretending to be gypsies so as to harass and rob people were to be avoided at all costs. We are only familiar with the tone our friends got from our familiarity with Germany and France, that of groups which are said to be this effective a week following their arrival in either country. Some resort to using faux pregnant women or teen girls with babies, to aid them in their attempts of pick-pocketig minimum.

This set and the Beggar Mafia aren't of the high profile organised crime syndicates. Different worlds altogether. The gangs and the Beggar Mafia might possibly be considered by the experts to be of the same strata.

How can this not occur when life on the street is hard. Natural for them to group in cells for survival. Sad.

The term here is kinder - "Children of the Night." We're all weary of them, but it does not in anyway discourage aid from concerned individuals and NGOs.
